The Eagle Eye #80 – Bundesliga Edition 18. September 2015

Dear Eagles around the globe,one month has passed since we sent you the last edition of our little newsletter – time for us to inform you what has been going on in and arond Frankfurt.After a matchday 1 loss against Bundesliga vice champions VfL Wolfsburg and a draw against Europa League contestants FC Augsburg, Eintracht got into their stride. On matchday 3, they defeated VfB Stuttgart, only to crush 1. FC Köln at home one week later.

Tomorrow, on Saturday, 19 September 2015, the Eagles, who are 4th in the table, will battle it out with Bundesliga “dinosaurs” Hamburger SV. The kick-off will take place at 15.30 CET. Our newsletter contains information regarding the upcoming match. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Eintracht’s winning streak will continue.

HSV seem to recover from another tough start to the season (cup elimination v Carl Zeiss Jena and 5-0 defeat v Bayern) – they won 3-0 away against Mönchengladbach last matchday and are currently ranked 12th on 6 points. Happy days at Eintracht – two high scoring wins (4-1 away v Stuttgart and 6-2 at home v Köln) lifted the Eagles to spot 4 in the standings.

Around 3,200 SGE supporters will make the trip to Hamburg, the ground Volksparkstadion has a 57,000 capacity.

The Eagles have won four of the last 6 meetings with HSV (2 draws). Hamburg’s last victory over Eintracht was a 1-0 home triumph in January 2011.
